We were out for a drive and decided to stop in at Yaranush Mediterranean on Central Ave., White Plains. We have been cooking up a storm during coronavirus, with no particular cuisine in mind. So, why not catch up on some of the flavors of the Mediterranean? First off, have not visited Yaranush in a while (the market has been open since 1987), so we were pleasantly surprised by the updated clean appearance of the store. All the dry larder was neatly displayed along the aisles and in the refrigerated cases. The fresh prepared goods in the display cases beckoned. We were greeted with a warm hello upon entering.
We filled our basket with tahini, yogurt, French lentils, halvah, baklava, along with some Israeli & Greek goods. Can't wait to prepare homemade hummus! We hurried back to our kitchen
