Old Stop & Shop, Downtown Chicago

Hello All,

I am planning a holiday trip to my hometown of Chicago this month and would like to take a trip down memory lane and revisit a funky/cool little (gourmet?) food store in the city that my mother always took us kids to around Christmas. I believe it was called "Stop and Shop" (not the same as the huge chain now) and I remember it being on an east/west street, probably east of State St., and having to walk down stairs from the street, into a basement, to enter. The place was full of all kinds of gastromomic delights - a lot of meats, nuts, candies, even produce I think. My mom mentioned the name "Hillman's" when we first started talking about it, but then said she thought it was Stop & Shop at the end (of our going there). Please, if anyone remembers or knows of this place, can you tell me it's current status and location? I would love to be able to go there again if it's still around. Thank you so much.
