My friends and I had reservations at Stone Park Cafe last night. The reservations were made 3 weeks ago (and my friend was visiting from D.C.). We travelled in the pouring rain only to find Stone Park Cafe closed with a sign saying "closed for observance of Yom Kippur". They closed the restaurant and didn't even bother to call their reservations! This is the most outrageous behavior I've heard of from a restauranteur. We ended up having dinner at Tempo where we were greeted warmly by Robert the general manager. We arrived wet and cold from the rain and they agreed to make hot buttered rum for us which was delicious -- we then had the orata, the mixed field green salad with goat cheese, porchetta, the bucatine with fagioli and a pasta special with brown butter, sage and butternut squash. All in all a fantastic meal at Tempo with excellent service.
Shame on Stone Park Cafe!
