The Stockton Inn

Bacchus101 | Nov 12, 201602:07 PM

Look in the dictionary/or Google Inn and you will find the Stockton Inn is exactly what it is you are looking for; the quintessential American Country Inn. Just up the road from the wonderful town of Lambertville across the Delaware River from New Hope, PA. They have announced the addition of a highly regarded experienced chef. Perhaps this Saturday was his day off. The Root Vegetable Cassoulet with White Bean | Turnip | Sweet Potato | Herb was 99% White Beans and just a barely warm plate certainly not a cassoulet. The crab cake was ok, not great. Get the idea? The venue is Very Good the service friendly but slow and the food just ok. Because this is a old establishment, part of the charm, hard wood floors, hard walls and ceilings create some loudness but not, on this day, overwhelming. Definitely worth a drive in the country to this historic "Inn with a wishing well" from a Broadway musical. A lucky choice from the menu could make it a really wonderful experience
