What did this accomplish other than wasting some slick paper stock? As can be expected in a popularity poll, this top five list of various restaurant categories predictably includes some places that I consider the worst in class. I thought last year the RFT was on to a good idea-listing the choices of the readers, but also including those of the RFT staff, which IMO resulted in a far more meaningful and useful "best of." The best bloody mary's at Houlihans! Best seafood at Red lobster! How could anyone take this guide seriously? The worst aspect of it, however,is that there are some worthy places mixed in that don't get their due and are sullied in comparison.
