Non-Stick 12-Inch Skillet Recommendations?

I'm looking for a non-stick skillet for under $100. I had read a while ago that America's Test Kitchen recommended the Farberware Millennium Soft Touch Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Nonstick Skillet, but many of the reviews on Amazon say that the pan only lasted a few months.
 
Can anyone recommend another pan for me?

I bought the Farberware Millennium 12" pan based on the America's Test Kitchen recommendation and I've been very satisfied with it. I've had it for 18 months and it is used a lot. It performs well and has good weight. I would recommend it.

I have a 12-inch non-stick frying pan for one purpose only, viz., to cook bacon and eggs, which I do nearly every morning. It never sees more than medium heat. I use only soft utensils and wash it carefully. About seven years ago I bought an All-Clad, and it was certainly the best one I had ever had, but the non-stick gave out in 5 years. More than two years ago I paid $17 for a Tramontina. It has performed just as well as the All-Clad and is still good as new. If it were to die tomorrow I'd go get another one.

I love my All-Clad...it just conducts heat better than any other non-stick I've purchased. As a result, I've been trying to be really careful with it to keep the finish, so I have another cheapo one that I bought for anything that I might be digging around in alot.

First, go for a nonstick that is thick anodyzed aluminum rather than stainless. Stainless is a poor heat conductor. Aluminum - especially thick al. is a fine heat conductor.
Circulon is the best teflon based non-stick (and they are all teflon to my knowledge - except for this black diamond - about which I know nothing)because Circulon has all these concentric grooves - the utensils never touch the insides of the grooves. Thus the non-stick quality lasts longer. Mine lasted 7 years. Don't invest in All Clad non-stick because it's only going to be non-stick for a few years at best and then you'll be kicking yourself because they aren't going to last any lonhger than a cheapo pan. Search Circulon online. You should be able to get a 12" for $50 - no tax, no shipping. For all non-stick do not use very high heat - makes it break down. Fry on a medium flame. If you need to fry really hot - like for meat, use cast iron.

Even the best of the non sticks give out after a few years of pretty regular use. So I've decided I will never again buy a really expensive one again. (had a very, very nice one once, never used metal in it, never in the dishwasher, protected it in the cupboards, but, after daily use, it still only lasted 3 years).
 
Instead, I now only buy middle-of-the-road versions - i.e., under $50. My only real requirement is that they are anodized and pretty hefty. Lots in that price range. I figure, spending $40 every 2-3 years or so on a pan is fine.
 
I save my money and spend it to splurge on a very good stainless set which really does last for years and years.

i concur with the people that say don't buy the expensive ones out there, since they'll all lose their non-stick coating after a while. unless you have a lot of disposable income. otherwise, you should probably go to a restaurant supply store and pick up a in-expensive (NOT cheap or poor) non-stick skillet from there.
