Well chowhounds I just returned from New Orleans last night, and it was another fine dining expereince!! I went to Stella! on Friday night and it was FANTASTIC!I reccomend it highly. I had squab with foie gras that was terrific, the best foie gras I ever ate and the squab was done to perfection! The appetizer was great too, lobster wontons over rice with an Asian sauce that was so tastey. The dessert was fantastic, Creme Brulee with green tea ice cream and grilled pineapples on the side, it was really very good. My friend had Bouillaisse with Saffron broth that was excellent and goat cheese dumplings with jumbo lump crab meat and an avacodo salsa for her appetizer. The waiter was really helpful and gave great recommendations for wines to complement the food etc. The atmosphere was really quaint and cozy, we got to meet Scott the chef and he was very pleasent. All in all I was very, very pleased and would go back in a heartbeat.Bayona was really good too, the lamb with goat cheese in a Zinfandel reduction was right on the money,I was a little disappointed in the menu as it was very limited. I did not have dessert, there were about 4 items on the menu and none of them sounded too appealing. The service was top notch and the food was really good, but Stella was unbelivable. I also went to Lilette, I thought it was too loud!! And way too crowded, you could barely make it to the tiny little bar that was just smack dab in the middle of the place. The bartender was not very friendly and he did not have much of a selection of liquer. We waited 50 minutes past our reservation time to be seated! The food was nothing to brag about. I think it could have been an off night, but I don't think I would go back. I would probably go to Upperline again before I would go back to Lilette!!
