Growing up we always steamed our corn on the cob. Never ever boiled it. My dad had a big multi tiered steamer that we used for steaming corn, cooking lobsters, new england boiled dinner. My mom also steam most veggies.
My husband grew up boiling his corn and I think it loses something in the proccess. Steamed corn on the cob just tastes "better" to me yet I can really quantify why.
