I went with a large group for lunch. I found it to be a good deal and it's offered year round. They also had some other interesting and reasonable offerings on the menu. So I will make a return visit soon.
We made our reservation a few days in advance. The restaurant new got completely full. We were seated at a great table by the windows with a lovely view. The room is very grand and elegant.
The menu choices were as follows.
App - Potato and Celeriac soup with black truffle oil OR Salad of roasted squash, prosciutto, shaved pecorino and arugula. I had the salad and it was delicious.
Main - Salmon with risotto OR Sirloin with fries. I had the steak since its a steakhouse. The meat was gristly and the fries were not great. But I liked the "homemade" steaksauce. A companion had the salmon and it sounded (and looked) much better.
Dessert - Trio of sorbets OR Rum baba with chantilly whipped cream and kumquat jam. I had the baba. It was not as rummy as I like. But the kumquat jam was very nice.
We finished with a very good espresso (not included in the menu). And we were served homemade toasted coconut marshmallows. I didn't care for them. But my companions devoured them.
Portion size was generous. And service was good, if still a bit green. But one of my companions fell for the old wine bait and switch. She asked for a glass of house red and was served a $20 glass of cabernet. Next time we'll have to ask for the list. All in all, it was a nice meal at a great price.
