A steak place in a shack in the hills?

I'm so glad I found this site. I did an archive search couldn't find the answer to something I've been trying to find for some time. Either it's not in the archives, or I am keyword impaired (which is quite likely).

A while back I saw a local TV piece about a small place run by an old guy in overalls. The hook is that his restaurant (really just a grill, mostly) is in a shack of a building. My recollection is that it's in the Santa Monica hills, but that may be wrong. He serves basic steak, burgers, dogs, etc. The "wine list" consists of one red and one white. And beer.

And the name went out of my head the minute the TV was turned off.

To be clear, I'm not looking for recommendations on great places for steak. I'm trying to track down this specific restaurant. It's not that I think it will be great, but I wanted to try it simply for the fun.

Anyone have any idea if there is such a place? Did I remember any of the details correctly? Or did I just dream the whole thing?

From what I have read so far, if there is anyone who can help me, it's the folks on these boards.

Thanks in advance.
