Steak - Crunchy Crust

I usually sear steaks coated with a bit of canola oil, salt, pepper, and garlic then pop them into the oven for a bit - delish. No complaints about the outcome but for the sake of variety would like to try to find a way to cook them up so as to end up with a crunchier crust. Any suggestions welcome.
