Help! Is this Staub teapot worth keeping?

k761110e | Oct 27, 201408:46 PM     25

Hi! I am new but created an account our of desperation. I just purchased this Staub teapot off of eBay. It was listed as being in excellent condition and hardly used. I was a little disappointed when I pulled this out of the box. I have emailed the seller and let them know the description was inaccurate in my opinion. The reply was that it was in excellent condition and it is common for porcelain cast iron to look like this because it is like a sponge and absorbs stains. I have several pieces of Le Creuset and haven't had that experience at all. Seller even directed me to Lodge's cleaning directions on their website.
Is this cleanable? I don't want to start scrubbing on it and changing it in case I need to file a claim with eBay. What would you do?
Thanks in advance!
