Staub Lovers - Question about black interior

So I'm on the fence between an LC and Staub. I like everything about Staub except the black interior concerns me because I would assume it is very hard to see how your fond is developing while you cook. Can a few people kindly share their experience with this? If I can't tell if I've burnt the fond then I'd risk a bitter sauce that could have been avoided had I been using a lighter interior. Thanks in advance for your help!
