Starbucks cinnamon-croissant bites

MichaelB | Mar 7, 200601:01 PM     10

I've been eyeing these for the last few weeks, since I saw them in their pastry case. Finally tried one today. Wow, they're BAD. (I know, it's Starbucks. But they occasionally do ok by sweets -- I'm still a little sad that they've cut the frosted gingerbread.)

The idea is a good one -- a treat-sized nugget of sweetened croissant dough with a bit of cinnamon, for 65 cents. Cheap and presumably not too caloric -- I actually had high hopes. Oh well. Basically they are a cross between day-old danish and really bad rugelach -- doughy, heavy layers saturated with fat and an unpleasantly sour taste. Nasty!
