Starbucks/Charbucks/Pasqua (longish)

After reading the very long series of posts of a week or two ago, I find it interesting that no one called it "Charbucks" which has been its name in the Seattle area seemingly forever. And it tastes it.
But does anyone remember the company Pasqua, based in SF, that Starbucks bought out to get all of those addtional units in downtown Manhattan, SF and LA, etc.? They had the greatest iced blended drinks, to the point everyone in our office in Century City would go downstairs around 3p.m. for one as an afternoon snack. They bought the rights to the product, yet forgot it, thought their frappaccino was better, or both. That is anything but the case. That Pasqua product was superb. That is how righteous they are about what they do, regardless of what others do or think. As to the corporate head set, does it surprise anyone that many in their real estate department are ex-McDonald's? I thank them for awakening America to a better cup of coffee, but my local place, or Graffeo's, or Peets will always be the first choice. They are truly the court of last resort.
