What Stanwood has needed for years

Food. Customer service. Good prices. Great atmosphere. Topping off my coffee (which is a high priority). All have been lacking, and are found, at The Blackbird. The food is top-notch. Utilizing local, organic and whole foods, the soups are what I make in my own kitchen-if I have the time. The pastries come out of the oven as you walk in the door. The aroma's alone could keep me coming back for more. Consistently good, the breakfasts are ample and hey! here's a concept: their breakfast potato's aren't the take-out-of-the-freezer variety. They are the real, fresh kind, with a nice balance of crisp and soft and just enough onion to not be overpowering.
The customer service sets the bar high for Stanwood. Cheerful without being in your face, and attentive at the right times. Enough said.
The prices are fair for the portion size.
I like a restaurant, esp for breakfast, where I can walk in and ease into my day. I like my coffee fresh and hot and kept that way. All happen at The Blackbird. They 'get' it, and it's done simply and right. The future looks bright in Stanwood for this crown gem.
