Disappointing lunch today. Returning home from the N.E., we stopped in for a lunch at a "conventional", but reliable seafood place.
Fried oysters had been sitting all breaded up in their case before frying; usually crispy and burning hot fried eggplant weren't; Manhattan clam chowder very spicy but barely clammy.
The other thing that was absent were many customers. Maybe they know something we didn't?
