we have an ancient motley collection of (mostly) Revereware (copper flashed bottom) pots that are very long in the tooth. the handles are basically crumbling from age/heat-up-the-sides/ etc.
I have heavy copper for fry/saute/sauce pans; a giga-gallon stainless heavy-disk bottom stock pot; cast iron favs and a cheepie Teflon fry pan for eggs, etc.
the , , , ahem,,, quaint stainless basically gets used for boiling veggies. the largest has a steamer insert ala double boiler 'style' - all with lids. and crumbling lid knobs . . .
so I'm looking to replace the whole mess with something stainless, metal handles / all metal construction, lids but no glass lids - and I thought.... why not a little style ?
over the years I've seen people mention Italian / Scandinavian / basically European designs - some that had really some stunning "style" but of course I can't turn up anything like that now....
memory is the second thing to go but I can't remember what is the first....
I'm looking for (at minimum) a large size to double as steamer - hopefully with insert, two mediums and one or two smalls. I really don't need a set, but sometimes it's cheaper to buy a set vs open stock.
