St Pete Beach/Tierra Verde

We will be traveling to this area for one or two day trips from Orlando. We are looking for any good waterfront/waterview restaurants. We will be with our 4 year old, so kid friendly would be helpful. Prefer seafood that is REALLY fresh and at least the option of not having it fried. We like the traditional "florida" style restaurants (good fresh seafood/peel and eat shrimp/casual atmosphere) but are ok with other style restaurants as long as the food is high quality. I've been reading some of the forums for ideas, but a lot of the places seem to be getting really mixed reviews (one person loves it another hates it). Also I am not easily finding any real "local" spots---they seem to be "tourist" sorts of restaurants.
Some of the places I am considering are: PJs Oyster Bar, The Hurricane Seafood Restaurant, Woody's Waterfront--all St Pete. I have seen Crazy Conch Cafe and Waterside Bar and Grill listed for Tierra Verde but can't really tell if these two places are still open.
