St. Louis- Scallops at Wholly Mackerel

We had yet another fabulous dinner at Wholly Mackerel last night. Our Mother's day dinner consisted of large scallops with an almond cream sauce cooked to perfection. Side dishes were interesting also and consisted of creamed spinach topped with gorgonzola and chopped hardboiled egg, corn souffle and the smashed yukon gold potatoes. Mom had the proscioutto wrapped halibut. The bread is served warmed with melted butter and parsley. The dessert we shared were the key lime cheesecake from Hank's Cheesecakes and the macadamia and almond brittle basket with fruits and ice cream and whipped cream. Truly it is one of the best meals and best prices in this area,in my opinion. The scallop dinner is 23 and includes two sides and a fresh salad with parm, mixed greens and grape tomatoes. Compared to the FORTY dollars we spent today per person at the the Coronado for the other mother's day meal it is a steal. But the brunch is an entirely different review.
