I got this from a friend and it sounds very "foodie".
It's that time of year again:
They're making Hungarian Sausage at St. Mary of Victories Church!!!
WURSTFEST on Sunday, December 8 at St. Mary of Victories Hungarian Church.
From noon until ?, feast on an all-you-can-eat sausage and other Hungarian goodies (including dessert) smorgasboard. You will love this event.
St. Mary of Victories is located at 3rd and Gratiot Streets. From 4th St.,go east on Chouteau, then north on 3rd, to Gratiot. Wurstfest and sausage
pickup will take place in the church hall, on the north side of the church building. Parking is on the east and north sides of the complex.
This is where you can sample all of the above sausages, as well as the Debreceni being offered for sale this day. Debreceni is the small smoked
link sausage that you can boil, grill, etc....also freezes beautifully.
St. Mary of Victories Church is the second oldest church building in St.Louis. Only the Old Cathedral is older. It's a beautiful church that has a
long illustrious history as, among other things, 'home' to the German community, and since the 50's, the Hungarian community. They've been making
sausage there starting in the cold-weather months for as long as I can remember. The profit from sausage sales is the church's biggest source of
income, which is critical since the parish does not receive support from the archdiocese, due to its small--and dwindling--population. St. Mary's is a
treasure. Your sausage purchase will help it continue to operate....as it has for over 150 years.
You're gonna love it. Hope to see you on December 8th! Feel free to pass this info along to anyone who you think would like to partake.
