St. Francisville, LA

This may be too late for the trip planned by blonde1, on February 3rd but here goes anyway: St. Francisville has a nice selection of restaurants. I have eaten at Arceneaux's and had a memorable seafood meal. Another poster on the New Orleans board, which gets a lot of hits for south Louisiana, said this about a bbq restaurant over there: "D'Johns is a no-frills, family sort of place, but you can get a damn good steak, if they're grilling out front in the parking lot. You can't miss the pit--it's to the left of the front porch. I had a NY Strip cooked over pecan wood, and it was a fine thing. The sides/salads aren't anything special, but the wood-grilled beef is the best of campfire cooking, brought indoors. Last time I was there, I hit a deer on Hwy 61, so be careful at dusk!"
