St. Francis: Bacon-Cheddar-Green Onion Pancakes (SF)

CH Addict | Apr 23, 200602:17 PM     9

I will be forever indebted to KathyR for recommending St. Francis...went yesterday w/ nooodles and co. We had the chef's mess (again), an omelet w/ cheese, guac, and salsa, biscuits & gravy, side of fries, and bacon-cheddar-green onion pancakes. Those pancakes are great! Alone, with just butter, they were very tasty but add the syrup and yowza! That play of sweet-savory is fantastic. The pancakes aren't skimpy either; they are loaded with the advertised fillings.

The omelet was fluffy and good, the accompanying potatoes were just ok. French fries were great though, fresh cut (but not anemic like In-n-Out), piping hot and perfectly salted. Biscuits & sausage gravy were good, biscuits a little dense for my taste but with gravy just fine. Chef's mess was good but somehow not as great as the first time...would still recommend it.

I will note that I had a patty melt on a different trip and it was not good.

I leave it to nooodles to write up the post-breakfast coffee/drama at Philz, I won't do it justice.
