On the recommendation of many on this board, I finally got a chance to try sripraphai today, and I must say having just returned from a trip to southeast asia, it was incredibly authentic and delicious. We ate tried the following items: tom yum(excellent), chicken larb gai(one of the best i have tasted to date, incredibly fresh tasting), shrimp with red curry(pretty good), thai catfish in spicy sauce(excellent, although bones were a bit hard to pick out because fish had been chopped into pieces), pad thai(very good). Overall, I was extremely impressed, and liked the fact that there were many more dishes on the menu that looked great, and were not the same old stuff you see on most thai menus.
I had a few questions:
1)I wanted to order the lattice catfish that others had talked about, but none of the catfish dishes on the menu went by that name, and I didn't know which one it was, and suggestions?
2)Has anyone tried any of the items at the deli counter at the back of the restaurant, if so any suggestions? there were some curry pastes and spice combos on the far end that looked interesting.
3) I would be interested in hearing what people's favorite dishes there are, to guide me in future visits.
Thanks a lot for guiding me here
