I'm planning a dinner for this Saturday that will hopefully include these ingredients. I don't often make it out of bed on the weekends early enough to get to the farmers' market (when I do go I go to Evanston), so I was hoping someone could tell me how easy or difficult squash blossoms have been to come by this season. If the chance is even a little better than 50/50 I'll go home with some I'll make the effort. I have some recipe variations but I really would like to use the squash blossoms. Are there other sources for squash blossoms besides a farmers market?
Scarlet runner beans (dried)...I checked a couple of Mexican markets and found only the usual suspects. Has anyone used or seen these? I can order them online but by the time you're done with shipping costs the price can get as high as $10/lb. Bright red beans would be fun, but not $10 worth of fun.
Any suggestions appreciated.
