Last night, the zucchini flowers were stuffed with an herbed ricotta and pancetta mix and lightly fried. Totally delicious! This gem of a restaurant has been charming my palate for several years now, and it seems that they have really caught their stride. Dishes coming out of this kitchen appear to border on the French, but the fratelli Bruno are Italian. They also own San Pietro and Caravaggio in Manhattan. It is, I would venture to say, their own signature style of Italian cooking. And early on, patrons did not know exactly how to define it. I was happy to see the place bustling.
In recent months, we have indulged in such delights as: light-as-a-cloud house made Lasagna Bolognese; hand made Lobster Ravioli; decadently light Potato Ricotta Gnocchi; Roasted Sea Scallops with fresh corn puree, sautéed baby pearl onions, green peas and corn and a sweet red pepper sauce; Fresh Cod and Sea Bass. For dessert, don't pass on the house made Bomboloni doughnuts with dipping sauce, or Poached Pear for as desserts. Their artisanal pizzas are delish, too.
