SPOTTED PIG this afternoon

mrnyc | Feb 12, 2006 07:05 PM

we dined at SP this afternoon for my spouse's bday and enjoyed ourselves on this crazy snowy blizzard sunday.

we each had draft beer to drink and later a taste of just ok zin by the glass. i wanted a glass of the hendry's zin, but they would not crack it unless we got the bottle -- oh well.

to eat we got two salads, the roast pumpkin salad w/pine nuts, greens and pomegranite seeds and also the smoked haddock, red and yellow roasted beets salad w/ creme fraiche and chives. both were delicious.

total bill was $69 w/o tip. it was busy but not too insane packed as it usually is. we sat downstairs in the front window seat near the stairs which was nice for the views. fyi -- upstairs is looking nice and is definitely more sedate, but still smells a bit musty.
