The Spot, Carpinteria

I have now eaten at The Spot twice, both times were excellent!

Its a tiny shack on Linden St. serving burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, burritos, etc.

It is a couple blocks from the beach and you can see the beach from their seating area. The seating area consists of plastic patio tables and chairs with umbrellas, there is also a covered seating area for inclement weather.

Both times there was a line, but it moves quickly and the food is served quickly.

The hamburgers are excellent. Served on a nice soft bun and piled high with lettuce and tomato. French fries weren't crispy enough for my taste ( like them crunchy) but the inside had a nice potato flavor. Onion rings have a crunchy, crumby coating and are good, but greasy.

Their pastrami was tasty, a little on the fatty side and there wasn't enough of it. Next time I would ask for double pastrami.

They also have a pastrami quesadilla which sounded bizarre but I had to try it. Grilled tortilla with pastrami, cheese, tomato and avocado inside. It was good! The combination of pastrami and avocado was very nice. It was also large and filling.

The beef tostada was good, but the beef was dry. It was the first one I'd had, my friend sampled it and said it was good, better than a place that uses canned beef.

Chocolate shake was excellent. I also saw someone with a chicken sandwich that looked good.

If you are in the area I highly recommend it if you are in the mood for this type of food.

You have to go all the way down Linden Street, don't stop at the Hot Spot which is closer to town. Continue down the Street. The link below has a picture of it.
