My husband and I have a problem with feeling uncomfortable in certain kinds of restaurants. Places where someone comes and sweeps the crumbs between courses, places with too much vertical food, places where we are snubbed if we order a whisky sour before dinner instead of a bottle of wine.
Some places we enjoy include Minibar on Cahuenga (my fave), Cobras and Matadors, (and Hillmont before that), Luna Park, Buddha Belly, Farfalle, Malo.
We'd like to try a new place (or just new to us) but are very wary of any place too fancy. Price isn't TOO much of a issue, but I do tend to lump high prices with a high rate of fancy schmancy. We live in Los Feliz but aren't afraid of a drive.
