SPICED NUTS – Home Cooking Dish of the Month, December 2017

masha | Dec 1, 201707:17 AM     83

Welcome to our Reporting Thread for our December Dish of the Month (“DOTM”). For those new to our DOTM series, the purpose of this thread is to encourage hounds to prepare the selected dish throughout the month of December and use this thread to report results, share pictures and recipes, and exchange tips and ideas.

During December 2017, we will be preparing Spiced Nuts, which was the runaway favorite during our selection process, both at the Nomination and Voting stage. See these links for more details: for Nominations, https://www.chowhound.com/post/nomina...; for Voting, https://www.chowhound.com/post/home-c....

As many of the participants in the Nominations and Voting rounds noted, Spiced Nuts are a particularly opportune dish for December, as they can be given as gifts, set out as nibbles for holiday entertaining, or enjoyed at home while curled up watching a favorite holiday movie (“Miracle on 34th St” anyone?) or while trimming the tree.

Here are links to some Spiced Nut recipes to get us started:

Also, you may want to review the comments on the Voting Thread as to search strategies for using Eat Your Books to find recipes for Spiced Nuts, starting here: https://www.chowhound.com/post/home-c....

So, let’s get cracking, stirring, and seasoning some nuts! Pictures of your results and links or descriptions of the recipes are encouraged. But, please respect the copyright of the recipe’s author by either: (a) including a link directly to the source of the recipe, or (b) if no link is available, use your own words to paraphrase and explain the instructions for making the dish (although you may directly quote any list and quantities of ingredients).
