I think that this retaurant has opened recently on Hope Street in Mountain View (cross street is Dana). It bills itself as Singaporean/Indonesian and has an extensive menu including some Thai dises. My dining companion ( a very demanding and picky eater) and I sampled the Tom Ka Gai soup, Singapore Rice Vermacelli noodles, fried Pampano and deep fried coconut shrimp.
The food was in general very good. The fish ,however, was dry and flavorless, the victim of a too long icy hibernation. The coconut shrimp were large and sweet, encased with snowflake like breading that covered not only the shrimp but a generous portion of fresh veges underneath.
The noodles were greaseless and flavorful--perhaps not hot enought for my taste.
Also passing by were cauldrons of chicken and rice noodle soup, fried okra and nasi goring.
The clientelle in general seemed satisfied as did my demanding friend.
The decor is way stripped down, looking like a sixties rec room but if good food is to be found, who really cares.
