Spice or herb to complement strawberries?

rworange | May 30, 200612:52 PM     24

Ok, so the glass jar for preserving strawberries works too well and I have a whole lot of strawberries.

I either eat them plain, sliced in oatmeal or yogurt and occasionally masccerated in liquor.

As far as oatmeal or yogurt what would be a nice herb or spice to complement the strawberries.

I don't use sugar or honey because I don't need the calories.

Cinnamon is not a good complement for strawberries. I'm thinking maybe some fresh chopped mint in the yogurt.

Any other ideas to up the flavor of my strawberry yogurt/or oatmeal meals?

BTW, raspberries in glass jars ... major thumbs up. I have never had luck keeping them more than a day or two. Even the jar with the slighly bruised raspberries held without molding. In fact, I think they improved and were less mushy than when I put them in there.
