My hubby and I are trying to decide if we should stay in Paris or head to Honfleur for the long holiday weekend. Having never been to Honfleur, I'm thinking it would be better for us to take a train to Rouen (avoiding Paris traffic and perhaps enjoying a meal at Origine or 4 Saisons) and then to hire a rental car there for the weekend. Or am I complicating things? Is there a direct train to Honfleur that I could not find online?
My hubby and I are older than most so we don't need nightlife (hubby can barely keep his eyes open past 20:00). What we do enjoy are talented, hungry chefs, local markets, local craftspersons, artisans, nature, calmness. I thought Honfleur might fit those needs for the weekend...Also wanted to try SaQuaNa in Honfleur and Bellevue in Villerville. Has anyone been there recently?
I'm assuming Paris will be a zoo on the 14th, that's why we thought maybe we should get out of town...But let me know if my assumption is wrong. If Paris will be deserted, then we would gladly stay local, assuming restaurants and merchants will be open.
