Wow, I go away on vacation and things go and get all funky on me. In any case, I took advantage of an extra day off to hit Speed's, only took 10 min to walk to from Boston City Hospital/#1 bus. There were about 6 people ahead of me around 12:15 including Dan Andelman and two of his co-workers who gave Speed and Speed Jr. copies of the hot dog show. Dog was good but it's tough to eat and a smaller dog would suit me just fine. I saved half for later cuz I was on an eating mission to get to places I can't make on a normal working weekday. Next stop was Christopher's on the corner of Harrison and E. Springfield which I'd seen mentioned in a blurb on best choc. chip cookies in the Sidekick last week. Glad I searched it out, big chewy cookie for about $1.50, most of which is waiting for me tonite. Grabbed a rasp/choc. chip scone since I'll probably never get back (open very early to about 2PM M-F) and that was good. Nice looking salads and things in a case but it was excrutiatignly hot in there. Last, I hit Dado bet. Central & Harvard Sq. for their lunch deal which was just okay. They offer 2 sandwiches every weekday w/ chips (or a fruit) and a drink for $6.95. I got tuna on French bread (not a baguette which I expected) w/ English cukes and (unripe) tomatoes, ate half, saved the chips and drank the iced tea. So Christopher's was the hit of the day, maybe I can get Mon. off and try a few more.
