Three specific questions

Thanks for your answers about Alias last week. Sounds okay but maybe not the place to try on 1 of 3 nites in NYC. We're unable to get reservations for a good time at Stanton Social (even calling 2 weeks and a day in advance, and just super curious about it whether it's all it's cracked up to be or not), so where should we put our name in while having a drink at Thor? Thanks to Jonas' suggestions and Chubo sounds decent, but not busy enough for my night in the "big city". On the other hand, I remember walking by Schillers and it looked insanely busy. Which of the following LES spots have the right combination of a bit of a scene, good food, okay prices, fun night out, and we can give our name 7:30-8PM for 8:30 or so?
Freeman's, Grotto, Inoteca, Kuma Inn, Suba, Schillers, anything else?

Also, I saw there's a Dining for Darfur event going on on 4/30 where many good restaurants give 5% of their sales. I'll most likely be on my own that nite, so a place with a nice bar would be best. I'm thinking Punch or Red Cat. Others? Anyone else seen this going on?

Lastly, I went to a southern/cajun place about 6 years ago that was maybe around East 14th, funky hipster joint. Does that ring a bell? Or are there any other fun southern influenced places you recommend, anywhere in the city? Have done the full on experience in Harlem at some semi famous place whose name escapes me, but looking for something a little more fun. Thanks for your help and will report back.
