I'm looking for suggestions for a special dinner in May that will include 11-14 guests or so, potentially including a two-year-old. I grew up in Toledo (Sylvania township) but no longer live there so don't have a handle on what would be good.
Most importantly, there must be good food. We like organic, local types of places that are vegan-friendly. Restaurant should be ADA accessible. A private room or quiet atmosphere would be a plus.
I've never been particularly impressed by Ciao Ristorante in Sylvania or Mancy's Italian Grill in Toledo, so that type of place is out.
Here's a few of my thoughts to get things going.
1. Hathaway House in Blissfield, Michigan
I'd go here more for sentimental reasons than the food--has anyone been there lately? Do you think it's worth the price?
2. Revolver in Findlay, Ohio
Appears to be closed. I went a few years ago and was impressed. It would have been a bit far away though.
3. Eagle Tavern at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan
I've never been there. Is it good?
4. Cohen & Cooke World Market & Eatery in Bowling Green, Ohio
I saw an article from 2005 in the Blade about this and it sounds great. Are they still open? Is it good?
5. Treo in Sylvania, Ohio
I don't think I've even heard of this restaurant. Is it any good?
6. Registry Bistro in Toledo, Ohio
This place looks promising from the website. Is it good?
Any info would be helpful. Thanks!
