A special Japanese food experience for visitors to Tokyo

I have family coming to town in August, but I have not lived in the Tokyo area long and am thus not familiar with some of the most recommended restaurants.

I want to treat them to a meal that I can tell them is a definitive Japanese experience. Just what a definitive Japanese experience is of course depends on the one doing the defining, but I was thinking along the lines of "tei shoku." Other suggestions would be gladly accepted, though.

As far as dietary preferences go, my family is relatively "conventional" and is not crazy about raw fish and "strange" things like natto and ume boshi. While they would eat tofu, a "tofu ryori" meal would probably not be the first on their list of choices. Finally, they are not vegetarian. So that is not a concern.

Also, my family is not rich, but as this trip is possibly a once in a lifetime experience for them, they may be willing to splurge for something really special. So while I was thinking of something around the Y5000-7000/person range, other suggestions are certainly welcome.

Thanks so much for your help.
