Hi, I know these questions come up frequently but I'm not getting any good hits in my searches of past threads, so -- what's a great "special" place for a small 70th birthday dinner with my mom & sister, both coming from out of town?
1. Ambiance is really key! Pleasantly dark-ish, unique, good energy, contemporary decor is nice. Downers would be: too bright, too noisy, too exclusively chic, too austere, too many bad tables.
2. We're in Eagle Rock but would travel anywhere greater LA.
3. $25, maybe $30 entree would be about our price limit.
4. We're all adventurous diners who also love craft beer & wine.
I'll very much appreciate anyone's input, thank you!
ETA: I guess something like Parkway Grill or The Raymond are along the lines of what I'm trying for, except perhaps a bit more exciting or unusual.
