I'm on a hunt to find peruvian corn, or maiz gigante. They're stout, fat corn that come in many colors and have very large kernels sometimes upto 1" in size. Sometimes called Maiz gigante de cuzco. You may have seen them recently used on an episode of Iron Chef America where a latino chef from NYC battled Iron Chef Morimoto with Black Bass.
Anyhow, I'm looking for this corn in/around the Atlanta, GA area and would welcome any reccomendations on spanish supermarkets, markets, farms or any kind of gourmet produce shops that could help me find this and other produce from the Americas.
The Dekalb County Farmers Market did not have it nor did they recall ever getting it in. Nor Whole Foods (longshot). Star Provisions didn't have a good reccomenation on a place to find it. I'm going to check out Sweet Auburn market next.
