Last summer Huli Huli became part of the Sunday Family and morphed into Sunday Gather. Still offering some of the Hawaiian plates, a few new items were on the menu when I stopped by to pick up lunch in September.
Such as Croissubi (or Crossubi), a cross of Spam musubi with a croissant. The laminated pastry was pretty good, but for me the jury is still out on whether the cheese and Spam filling encased in flaky croissant dough is any better than a plain ol' Spam musubi. In truth, I preferred the traditional Spam musubi that I also picked up.
Besides these Spam novelties, I also tried the salad with shrimp and jasmine tea dressing and the agua fresca of the day. Thumbs up on the agua fresca, and pass on the salad.
