Spago Tasting Menu = a review

went to spago the other day for lunch. nice tasting menu.

Started w/ tuna tartare in a sesame cone,
then sturgeon mousse,
then lox with ikura on a pumpernickel blini,

Then on to the more substantial courses:

nantucket bay scallop ceviche w/ ponzu and osetra caviar.
maryland crabcake w/ a tiny salad.
butternut squash agnolotti w/ Alba white truffles.
Loupe de Mer fish w/ lobster sauce and veggies, and bits of other seafood.
Sliced Breast of squab w/ a leg stuffed with Foie gras.
Slices of Snake River Ranch Kobe beef w/ yuzu and wasabi sauce.

Then a cheese course of artisanl cheeses (not really fond of cheeses - triple cream was ok).

and then a hand pulled apple streudel w/ 50 vanilla bean ice cream.

and also chocolate beignets w/ sour cherry ice cream.

and that's it. if you haven't tried a tasting menu at spago it might be about time you did.
