The Old Spaghetti Factory/Fresno

We decided on the OSF for dinner last night with my oldest son and his fiance. We enjoyed browsing through engagement pictures while we waited for our table.

The decor is something like The Ghost & Mrs. Muir meets the Streets of San Francisco. Kind of a haunted house type decor with large chandaliers. Our table had iron headboards on the back of them.

For one price your meal includes bread, salad, coffee or tea entree and dessert. The price is definitely right here. I ordered the Baked Lasagna for my entree. First of all, the bread that is served with it was very tough and not warm. You kind of had to rip it off your teeth, LOL! The salads that were served were my worse nightmare, bagged lettuce, some brown served only with croutons. The pesto dressing wasn't bad, but there was a lot missing from the salad, if you could really call it that. :(

Entrees came out shortly after the salad, I was disappointed in the lasagna, it just didn't taste right and I ate half of it. The best part of the meal was the spumoni ice cream. A mixture of chocolate, pistachio and cherry flavors that went well with the decaf coffee. I probably won't be going back here. I was hoping for much more. The place was packed, tho even on a Thursday night.

There was a security guard in the parking lot when we walked out. The location is on Shaw Ave., near Fresno State. I'm having a hard time finding great Italian in this area. I'll have to try Parma sometime.

Very mediocre meal, the best part of the dinner was being in the company of a very happy couple discussing wedding plans! Cheers! ***kim***
