Southerner moving to VT, any typical foods I should know?

I'm moving to Burlington, VT from the sweet sunny land of the south, and one of my great pleasures is finding the little places down here that utilize more traditional southern foods and cooking styles. Basically (and rather stereotypically), I love my bbq, greens and cornbread, and catfish, but I pretty much enjoy any kind of good eats. In my ignorance, I don't know if there are more traditional New England/VT foods that I should familiarize myself with when we move to the area. I know chowders and lobster, but that's about it, and they probably aren't as prevelant in Burlington. Do any of you have any suggestions as to foods I should check out, or places to eat in the Burlington area that will give me a good introduction to New England foods? To make it a little more difficult, my wife is a seafood-eating vegatarian, and she obviously doesn't come along to most of my favorite southern places. But, it is a nice bonus if she can enjoy a place as well.
