South Texas Road Trip

In a few weeks we will travel through Carlsbad NM, Pecos TX, Fort Davis, Terlingua, Big Bend National Park, Del Rio, Laredo, Ulvade, Crystal City, McAllen.

I searched this board and culled the following chowhound recs:

- Carlsbad, NM: BBQ at the Dairy Queen (I checked the web site dannysbbq.com. It looks worth a try! He serves DQ ice cream and makes his own bbq.)
- Alpine TX: Reata Restaurant
- Laredo: The Tack Room at La Posada; La Mexicana - off I35 Park/Sanchez exit for chicken flautas.
- Nuevo Laredo: El Rincon de Viello, Platos, and El Rancos
- McAllen: Rudy’s bbq
