I had not been to South Park for a while (I very much miss Eccolo). Prompted by another poster's rec. for South Park Cafe a couple weeks ago, a friend and I had dinner there this past Tuesday night. We arrived about 8 and were seated w/o reservations. The restaurant filled up entirely as we were there.

The "Pig's Feet" Salad is delicious! Frisee with just the right amount of roasted, shredded pork, and I think sliced apples with a mustard vinagrette dressing. It could have been my meal.

We also shared the steak frites which was very nice. The steak was cooked perfectly and surrounded by a reduction sauce. For dessert, we shared the carrot parfait-- interesting. A lighter, fresh carrot cake. Definitely not rich. Not sure what I think about it yet- but different.

We did not have the prixe fixe but I saw they had one for 29.96 for 3 courses.

2 salads, one entree, one dessert, 4 glasses of wine totaled about $75. Really warm, easy place to have a good dinner.
