Quick visit to the South Bay this weekend and had success at many Chowhound recs:
1. Dish Dash in Sunnyvale. Amazing Mediterranean in Sunnyvale's Heritage District. Worthy of another visit. Really. It was Outstanding with a capital 'O". I had the seasoned minced lamb and beef topped with a thick sauce of eggplant, onions, peppers, tomatoes seasoned with garlic, mild curry and dry lime; daughter had boneless chicken and carmelized onions, seasoned with almonds, sumac spice, wrapped and baked in a Tanour crust, served with saffaron-yogurt sauce.
2. Hobees. Yes, Hobees! Visited the Sunnyvale location. Not only was the food tasty, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely a go-to for diner-style breakfasts.
3. Calafia in Palo Alto. Sunday bunch was Yum-my. I had the special of "Buttery Grits with Pork Belly and a Sunnyside Up Egg". Yum. Daugher had the Blue Max - lemon hollandaise. Need I say more?! Paid a visit to the Mountain View farmers market on the way. Really great market.
4. Pizza Antica @ Santa Row. Had the Grilled Radicchio, Goat Cheese, Pesto, Pancetta Pizza and Field Greens Salad (with pine nuts and fresh herbs). Hit the spot on the way to the airport.
Yes, Chowhound comes thru again!
