South Bay Dumplings: Tong Dumpling Pot

Went with a friend for lunch today, the place was impeccably clean, brightly lit and quite inviting, not a spot of grease to be found. Their specialty is of course dumplings which simplifies the menu. I ordered the 5.95 special where you can 12 dumplings with your choice of ingredients, I choose pork, with shrimp and chives (three special). Ask them which ones they are just wrapping so you can get the freshest ones. You can choose between having them boiled or pan fried, I choose boiled. The wrapper was perfect, with great consistency not too hard not too soft.. Inside each dumpling was filled with a very tasty soup, be careful with the wrapper otherwise you might loose the soup into the bowl when scooping it out, the filling was great the flavors were just right not too strong (I like it that way it indicates that the proprietors did not use a lot of MSG). In addition they give you a choice of soup or congee, and a side dish of your choice (seaweed, peanuts, tofu etc). All in all highly recommended. Will try the hand made noodle next time and report back.
