Shaheen Restaurant 72-09 Broadway
Bombay Harbour 72-32 Broadway
will be the location of a one day festival of
music, dance, poetry and cuisine event from
5:30pm to 11:30pm Saturday June 21, 2003
It is sponsored by the Queens Council on the Arts
and Bishwo Shahitto Kendro and the Rumi Center
Free admission. English will be spoken.
Food seems to be only a minor part of the proceedings (snacks and desserts offered at both locations a bit after 7pm) so I suggest those attending to plan to eat something in the neighborhood before the festivities start.
Both these restaurants are medium sized, with dining rooms that comfortable hold maybe 75 - 100 people in dining seating. Which means that if it is a smashing success it will be crowded. Also to fit more people they may rearrange the dining areas to have fewer tables and more room for general seating.
