Need a new source of crabs in Pillar Point

cyssf | Nov 27, 201806:44 AM     3

I discovered Bill and Penny on the Cricket crabbing boat from an old Chowhound thread. They were great. You could call ahead of time and reserve crabs so even when crabs were scarce you would be assured of getting what you needed if you called ahead. There were several times when we were walking back with our bags of crabs and people would jump on us asking where we got them because they couldn't find any. The crabs were excellent, all legs intact, large, in good condition because they were fed anchovies and squid in the holding tank. They retired and sold the boat and business and I am sorry to say that all these virtues are no longer available. No longer take reservations for crab. Not reliable about whether the boats will be there or not (in lieu of a reservation we were told to come at a particular time and date and advised to try another named boat if the Cricket was not there, however, when we arrived neither boat was there). Does anyone else have a good reliable source for high quality crabs that can be reserved ahead of time? I have annual crab feeds for 10-16 people and I need a good source and prefer not to use the crabs in tanks up here in SF although I suppose I could.
