I live in LA, but I come to NY frequently. Although I hadn't gone there in about a year, yesterday I headed over to W. 55th St. in eager anticipation of crab bisque or turkey chili from Al Yeganeh of Soup Kitchen International, known to Seinfeld fans as "The Soup Nazi" (sorry, Al). Imagine my shock, horror and despondancy when I found it closed. It was clearly not a summertime hiatus, but the end/fini/adios/R.I.P.
Can someone please tell me what happened to this sublime extablishment and its mercurial owner? And can you offer any alternatives that might, albeit remotely, satisfy? Thanks.
